Answering the Most Common Patient Questions

Of the questions we receive, the two most common are about the frequency of visits and how long a patient should be under chiropractic care. What are the answers? Well, it all depends.

Family First Chiropractic Wellness Center cares for a wide range of patients. Because we care for infants, children, young adults, middle-aged adults, and elderly adults alike, both the amount and duration of chiropractic care each patient requires vary greatly. Besides age, other factors, including severity of condition and lifestyle choices, help us customize each individual plan of care.

For example, consider the care of a three-month-old versus the care of a 70-year-old.

While a three-month-old that has been to the chiropractor since birth might only require weekly checks and monthly adjustments, a 70-year-old who has recently begun participating in regular chiropractic care may require several checks throughout the week and a series of adjustments throughout the month.

Why is this? Daily wear and tear on the human body often goes asymptomatic until years down the road. It is for this reason that we preach four simple words – the earlier, the better!

What You Can Do

The importance of frequency is really creating healthier nerve pathways. As the nervous system learns through repetition, routine chiropractic care is essential to helping condition the body to become more coordinated. So, what does this mean for you? Get checked often! The less damage you allow to build up with time, the healthier you will be in the long run.

For the Parents

Do you have little ones at home?

If so, it is important to understand the benefits of starting chiropractic care as young as possible. Children go through rapid phases of development, and with that, we must make sure development is happening appropriately. By focusing on their spinal health, we are better able to ensure positive influences on every other function of their small bodies, including happy, healthy growth.

What is the major takeaway?

At the end of the day, no two patients require the exact same care. Outcomes, age, chronicity, and lifestyle have everything to do with determining the correct frequency of visits as well as how long one should be under care. Our practice is committed to making sure each patient receives the care their body needs – with us, you are in good hands!
