How does chiropractic care help?

Chiropractic adjustments work to restore proper motion & alignment to the spine and pelvis. Healthy spinal motion is necessary for the brain to manage & adapt to stress (physical, chemical, & emotional) in the most effective way possible. Our bodies are meant to adapt, heal & regulate themselves & that happens through the coordination of our nervous system. Any interference to the nerve system, affects your ability to adapt & be well.

I didn’t hear a sound. Does that mean the adjustment didn’t work?

Nope! The sound that is sometimes heard with adjustments is not an indicator on how successful the adjustment is.

Does insurance cover chiropractic visits?

We are out of network with all insurance companies. Unfortunately, many insurance companies do not currently cover preventative & wellness practices including function-based chiropractic care. By not billing insurance, we are not tied to the typical constraints of insurance plans, and this allows us to curate a high-quality wellness plan that’s also affordable. Our care plans are often less expensive than what you would pay with insurance co-pays.

How safe is chiropractic?

Chiropractic care is very safe for people of all ages.

Is chiropractic care safe while I’m pregnant?

Yes, pregnant women respond very well to specific chiropractic adjustments. It is especially important to help expecting mothers keep their body in proper alignment. Healthy alignment & motion helps to improve the labor and birth experience. Adjustments also help pregnant women manage stress more efficiently. Proper nervous system and spinal function are crucial to the development of a baby and essential to the well-being and comfort of the mom. The effects of chiropractic care during pregnancy are far-reaching and extend way beyond treating pain.

Can I become addicted to chiropractic adjustments?

We have all heard the phrase “once you go to the chiropractor you always go to a chiropractor.” Chiropractic adjustments are not addictive, however once your body starts managing stress better it is common to feel better. Once Chiropractic care is discontinued it is only a matter of time before stress in our lives overwhelm us once again. We believe that utilizing chiropractic care for your lifetime is a major success strategy for healthy living, just like eating well and exercising.

Is chiropractic care safe for children?

Yes! In fact, it is one of the things we encourage most in our office. An assessment and adjustment looks completely different than that of an adult. Infants and kiddos are not merely small adults. They have anatomy and growth patterns that are unique to not only their age groups, but their individuality as well. Each adjustment is specific, gentle, and tailored to the comfortability & sensitivity of the child. Making sure your kiddos nervous system is clear & connected is a BIG deal here at FFCWC & we are honored to be a facilitator in their growth & development.

How much schooling does a chiropractor have?

Chiropractors have slightly more classroom hours than your medical doctor. The basic sciences are the same for both. As schooling progresses, chiropractic education focuses on anatomy and physiology with a huge emphasis on the nervous system as well as adjusting, whereas medical school focuses on pharmacology and toxicology. In other words, chiropractic students focus on how a healthy body functions and how to restore health versus focusing on the treatment of disease.

Can I see a chiropractor if I’ve had back surgery?

Yes! We care for many individuals following back & neck surgeries. Spinal surgery addresses the damage that has occurred in a spinal joint by acute trauma or chronic wear & tear. Chiropractic care following surgery can reduce the need for future surgeries by helping the body adapt to the new biomechanical changes in the spine.

How long will it take to work?

It depends. The Chiropractic adjustment changes neurology immediately following the adjustment, but the body needs time to heal and adapt. Our office utilizes technology to help track & measure progress throughout your care so we can see when your body is balancing out & adjust recommendations accordingly.
