Physical Stressors in Dubuque
In this video Dubuque Chiropractors, Dr. Jack Hinderman and Dr. Jenny Leist talk about everyday physical stressors, the importance of healthy adaptation and what you can do to minimize them in your life.
If left alone, everyday stressors can take quite a toll on the human body. Physical, chemical, and emotional stress equates to the thoughts, traumas, and toxins that cause our bodies to be unwell. As each of these stressors forces us to adapt and cope, we have to consider the importance of continuous regulation. How can we ensure a healthy adaptation to stress that allows us to remain well?
Talking Physical in Dubuque
While each form of stress - physical, chemical, and emotional - plays a role in our daily lives, today, we are going to focus on physical stressors and what we can do to minimize their negative effects on your life.
When we look at stress, also known as trauma, we separate it into acute and chronic categories. On an acute level, physical stress translates to immediate misalignment. The birth process, car accidents, falling on the ice, and intense workouts are just a few examples of the many acute physical stressors we encounter. More common stressors, including posture, repetitive motion, and lack of movement, are categorized as chronic stress that limits our ability to achieve health and healing.
Why is this important? Easy. Our brains cannot be healthy if our bodies are not moving correctly - what seems physical is also neurological.
Make Your Move
Family First Chiropractic Wellness Center believes in the importance of movement. In our Move Well workshop, we call this “vitamin M.” Get it? Movement can be as simple as going for a walk or even sitting down and standing up again.
Aside from healthy activity, we suggest regular visits to the chiropractor to counteract the results of physical stress. If you have had a trauma, no matter big or small, chiropractic care can help. By addressing the spinal misalignments that take place when our bodies undergo both acute and chronic physical stress, we encourage optimal healing and utmost health.
