New Warnings For Popular Drugs in Dubuque

New Warnings for Popular Drugs in Dubuque

Since the beginning, human beings have grown an immense amount when it comes to our knowledge about our health and how to stay healthy. We have even classified illnesses into seasons, such as “flu season.” Compared to human beings hundreds of years ago, we live a lot longer due to less trauma on our bodies, but we sure do get sicker.

Big Bad Medications in Dubuque

A common response to illness is medication. Whenever we encounter so much as a simple symptom, such as a headache, we quickly resort to taking an over-the-counter medication like Advil. Our issue in society is that instead of thinking about how we can prevent getting sick, we think more about stopping our symptoms.

Consider the last time you got sick. Since then, have you changed anything in your daily life to avoid getting that sickness in the future? The answer is probably no. Unfortunately, this response is common in our society. We rely on our drugs to rid our symptoms in order to continue on with our lives when really, we should be adjusting our lives to prevent getting sick in the first place.

What Can We Do?

New studies are being released that excess amounts of the medications that rid us of our sickness are directly related to other life-threatening health issues. Medicines, such as Ibuprofen and Advil, have recently been proven to cause heart attacks and strokes. Along with that, some antidepressants have been linked to birth defects in children.

Together, we need to take action to promote health rather than rely on medicine for temporary relief. The next time you get a minor headache and think to take an Advil, ask yourself if it is really worth risking a stroke or heart attack and what you can do next time to prevent it.
